Keep these points in mind as you use SAS date and time values:
-
SAS date values are based on the Gregorian calendar, and they are valid for
dates from A.D. 1582 through A.D. 20,000. Use caution when working with
historical dates. Most of Europe used the Gregorian calendar starting in
1582. Great Britain and the American colonies adopted it in 1752. Check the
adoption date for other parts of the world before making important
calculations.
-
SAS software makes leap year adjustments but ignores leap seconds.
-
SAS software does not make adjustments for daylight savings time.
